Vacancy: Head, Human Resources and Administration

A not-for-profit, non-governmental interdenominational Christian Organization established in 1966 to meet the Scriptural needs of every Nigerian in general, Christian Churches and Confessions in particular, and to help people interact with the Word of God, is seeking for immediate employment a seasoned Head, Human Resources and Administration. Under the dynamic leadership team led by the General Secretary/Chief Executive, the organization is experiencing rapid growth and re-positioning hence the need for a thoroughbred HR professional to lead the HR function.

Location: Lagos



Job Summary 
Plans, directs, organizes, co-ordinates, etc the sourcing, placing, nurturing, engaging, retention, utilization, training/development, and exit of the human resources pool to maximize the strategic use of same to the extent that corporate objectives are achieved.
S/he is responsible for talent acquisition, succession/workforce planning, performance management and development for employees, using technology efficiently, and coaching/developing others to  help influence and execute business objectives in the most efficient manner.
S/he generally works with considerable independence, developing processes to accomplish objectives in alignment with broader business objectives.

Experience:         10 years working experience with 6 of it in Human Resource Management field and at least 3 years experience at management level
Reports to:         Chief Executive Officer
Direct Reports: Administrative Officers, Receptionists, Protocol Officers, Maintenance Supervisor, and the role’s Confidential Secretary.

Liaising with the unit heads/relevant personnel to identify training needs that's key to achieving corporate objectives

Principles and procedures for people resourcing, talent sourcing, training, total rewards,  personnel information system, etc

Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation,  leadership technique, co-ordination of people and resources.

Structure and content of English Language, including the meaning and spelling of words, and rules of composition and grammar, our client is involved in the publishing of globally circulated contents.

Nigerian labour and employment related laws, government regulations, agency rules and democratic political process.

Computer applications that will assist to electronically manage HR related records

Human behaviour and performance, individual differences in ability, personality, and interests, learning and motivation, assessment and treatment of behavioural and affective disorders

Principles and methods of curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effectiveness.

Requisite Qualifications
  • Professionally certified by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) or its global equivalent is a major criterion to occupy this position 
  • HND/first degree in the Humanities is mandatory. 
  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Personnel Management, Industrial and Labour Relations would be required for this top management position. 
  • Adequate involvement in strategic plan and implementation in a reputable organization 
  • Clear Christian experience and proven integrity is a prerequisite 
  • A demonstrable willingness to learn.
